Join Queer Newark on November 18 and 19 for our first virtual oral history bootcamp!

We will be hosting four individual workshops: (1) on introductory oral history methods and practice; (2) on creating oral history recordings for long-term preservation; (3) on trauma informed interviewing; and (4) on putting oral history in action.

These virtual sessions will explore the process of creating and launching an oral history project, including tips for collaborative research and community outreach; interview preparation and techniques, from choosing recording equipment to designing effective questions with a trauma-informed approach; best practices for preserving and archiving recordings and materials, and possible outlets for and creative applications of oral history.

The event is free and open to the public via Zoom. All are welcome! Register at qnbootcamp.eventbrite.com.

This event is made possible with support from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.
