Introduction to Oral History Workshop

On September 30, 2021, Queer Newark held a virtual introductory workshop on oral history methods and practice facilitated by Erica Fugger (she/her) and Kristyn Scorsone (they/them).
This virtual session explored the process of creating and launching an oral history project, including tips for collaborative research and community outreach. We also discussed interview preparation and techniques, from choosing recording equipment to designing effective questions; possible outlets for and creative applications of oral history; and concrete skills to apply to your own family and community oral history initiatives.
