Location: Virtual - Zoom
Join Queer Newark on September 30 from 1-3PM for an introductory workshop on oral history methods and practice! This virtual session will explore the process of creating and launching an oral history project, including tips for collaborative research and community outreach. We will also discuss interview preparation and techniques, from choosing recording equipment to designing effective questions. The workshop will wrap up with an overview of some possible outlets for and creative applications of oral history.

The event is free and open to the public via Zoom. Register via Eventbrite to reserve your ticket today! Newark residents are particularly encouraged to attend, as we will discuss ways to get involved with the Queer Newark Oral History Project, from volunteering to sharing stories. This session will also offer concrete skills to apply to your own family and community oral history initiatives, and will include interactive opportunities to practice interviewing. All are welcome!

This workshop was made possible with support from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.
